INTENTIONAL FAITH DEVELOPMENT THROUGH ACTIVE DEVOTIONAL LIFE

Altar cloth panel made by Carole Mehl

The goal of encouraging faith development is to grow deeper in relationship with God and one another.

The various Sermon Series presented by Pastor Jenn throughout the year is often the staring point for focused discussions where we Study, Observe and Name how the Word of God is alive in our world.

At Country Club UMC, the pathway to discipleship provides a Christian environment from birth to adulthood where age-appropriate worship, Bible lessons and fellowship are continually offered.

New Bible Study Groups

During the Lenten Season Pastor Klein will lead discussion of Unbinding the Gospel, a study of real-life evangelism. Pastor Spears will lead discussion of Love Walked Among Us, a study of faith-energizing love.

Cost for either study is $30 for book and supplies; contact church office 816-444-1616 to register; attendance limited to 12 people at each study. Childcare will be provided.

For our children, we follow the advice of Proverbs 22-6: Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

The youth, grades 7 – 12 are encouraged to explore and grow in relationship with each other and God – to ask and discuss tough questions, to rejoice in diversity of ideas, and to be in service to our world.

For adults, our pathways to discipleship involve participation in on-going small group studies, prayer groups, Sunday School classes and periodic weekend study groups or seminars where the Bible is illuminated and brought to life for each of us.

Crusader Class: The central question our studies address is “what does it mean to lead a Christian life” in today’s world where economics, cultures and religions are often in conflict.

Steppingstones Class: We are young professionals, some married, some with children, eager to understand how to follow Christ in time of extreme competition for our time and energy.

Meriwed Class: This class was formed by a group of newly married World War II veterans and their wives, who remain the core of the group although newcomers are welcome. Classes consist of presentations about organizations, people, and ideas by guest speakers from both inside and outside the class. The class also plans social events throughout the year.

Adult Bible Study: We are mixed in age and experience, but all seeking to learn how, with Christ, we can make a big difference in our world.

All our adult classes are involved in many community and international service programs which allow us to put our faith into action.
